21 September 2009 | Evolution of the UK Lending market since 2008

As the TMA (UK) Membership and PR director I attended this Summer School organised by the C5 conference organisation, I was impressed by the standard of speakers and one presentation amongst many excellent presentations I would like to share with the TMA(UK) members, sponsors and interested parties. With the author’s permission I attach a succinct presentation on the UK lending market since the demise of Lehman Brothers on 15th September 2008. For me the presentation clarified graphically the basis behind the recession and future prospects in the Lending market and how banking will change for a significant time to come. The presentation concluded that the UK market will have a “W” shaped recession rather than the “V” shaped recession reported in the press. The implication of this research is that Restructuring, Turnaround and Insolvency skill sets will be in vogue for some time to come.
