TMA (UK) is delighted to announce its first regional meeting in the North East on Wednesday 17th March 2010. The session will be entitled "Bringing Turnaround to the North-East".
Andrew Cawkwell, Head of Corporate Recovery and Insolvency at Watson Burton LLP, has recently accepted an invitation from TMA (UK) to become a coordinator of events on its behalf for the North East region. Andrew's intention is to create a lively and active group of people in this region who are involved in or interested to hear more about the topical issues of the day regarding the business of turning around distressed busineses. The group will aim to meet at least once a quarter and aims to deliver an interesting programme of activities and events designed to support CPD requirements and generate wide scale interest.
As TMA (UK) in the North East is a new group (and recognising that the concept of turnaround may be new to some people interested in attending), we have invited Mark Blayney and Martin Jesper to give introductory presentations on the concept of turnaround and its application in the regional economy.

Keith Steven will present on the use of Company Voluntary Arrangements in turnaround situations and will focus on the practical issues of establishing the suitability of CVAs in particular situations, gettting a proposal off the ground, the negotiation with stakeholders and creditors, legal and technical issues affecting the same.
Format:
